McKinney Avenue Contemporary (MAC)


The McKinney Avenue Contemporary is a non-profit contemporary arts center with facilities for the presentation of new work in all disciplines, including theater, visual arts, music, film & video, performance, dance and literary arts. The MAC opened in October 1994 and is the first venue in North Texas where contemporary arts in all of its forms is explored and presented under one roof.

Wednesday to Saturday from 11a.m.-9 p.m.

Directions & Parking
From Denton: Take I-35 South. In Dallas take 75/I-45 Houston exit (Woodall Rodgers Freeway). Take Pearl St. exit. Keep to the right (Olive St.). Cross the freeway then turn right at the first light - McKinney Ave.. Just past the light at Oak Grove, the road will curve to the right. Turn right immediately following “La Tour” high-rise. From Downtown Take Akard St. or Olive towards Woodall Rodgers. Turn right at the first light on McKinney Ave. (North). Just past the light at Oak Grove, the road will curve to the right. Turn right immediately following “La Tour” high-rise. From N. Central Expressway Take 75 South Exit 1B Haskell/Blackburn, Lemmon & Hall St. Turn right at Hall St. (third light) Turn left at the first light onto Oak Grove

The McKinney Avenue Contemporary is a non-profit organization that offers the opportunity for experimentation and the presentation of art in all disciplines. The MAC supports the artist’s roll in society by providing emerging and established artists a forum for critical dialogue with their audiences. The organization cultivates this relationship through education and innovative programming. It stands as a Dallas advocate for creative freedom. The MAC has been a Dallas establishment since 1994 and is a member of Dallas Art Dealers Association and The Uptown Association.
