Texas Black Film Festival 2010 hosts 3 full days of inspirational independent films from around the world. TBFF selected films include features, shorts, documentaries and animations. The theme for 2010 is "Peace through Independent Film." Community partners include the Dallas Holocaust Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas International Film Festival and a host of professional and social organizations.
The Red Carpet Premiere features actor/ director Giancarlo Esposito. The Awards presentation on Saturday February 6th will honor Texas State Representative Dawnna Dukes, the architect of the legislation which provides for incentives to keep the Texas film industry competitive throughout the nation.
The mission of the Texas Black Film Festival is to provide film makers from around the world with:
(1) an opportunity to view the vast film industry resources waiting to be utilized here in the state of Texas;
(2) an opportunity to display works that express the African-American experience;
(3) networking with industry professionals; and
(4) opportunities to sharpen those film production and marketing skills through workshops.
