Explore the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture and experience all things uniquely Dallas! Located in the 1892 "Old Red" Courthouse near historic Dealey Plaza, the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture tells the rich stories of the development of Dallas County from pre-historic times to the present day. Relive the stories, people, and events that shaped dozens of Dallas County communuties from Irving to Lancaster, as well as the city of Dallas itself. Four galleries feature 41 interactive touch-screen kioks, more than 1,000 artifacts and rare photographs and specially-commisioned films.

Kids will enjoy creating their own stained glass window, uncovering historical features through architecture rubbings, and discovering architectural details that make Dallas buildings unique. Special guided tours of the Old Red Courthouse will offer visitors a chance to learn about the restored courtroom, restoration room, grand staircase, and clock tower.

Senior/Student admission: $6.00 per person
Children ages 3-16: $5.00 per child
Children under age 3: Free of charge

With your admission pay only a $2.00 parking rate for parking inside the underground garage located next to Museum. Located in the 1892 Old Red Courthouse in the historic West End of downtown Dallas near Dealey Plaza, the Old Red Museum is convenient to other downtown major attractions, hotels and restaurants.

Other Information
Visit the Crystal Charity Ball Children's Education Center - one of the only hands on history centers in the country - and test your knowledge of Dallas County.

Daily building tours are given at 2 p.m. Learn about the history of the building and the renovation process done to bring it back to its 1892 orginal glory.

Summer Saturday includes discounted Museum admission, themes from Dallas County’s history, guided building tours of the Old Red Courthouse, gallery scavenger hunt, crafts, and hands-on activities for kids ages 4-16.
