Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture
Explore the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture and experience all things uniquely Dallas! Located in the 1892 "Old Red" Courthouse near historic Dealey Plaza, the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture tells the rich stories of the development of Dallas County from pre-historic times to the present day. Relive the stories, people, and events that shaped dozens of Dallas County communuties from Irving to Lancaster, as well as the city of Dallas itself. Four galleries feature 41 interactive touch-screen kioks, more than 1,000 artifacts and rare photographs and specially-commisioned films.
Kids will enjoy creating their own stained glass window, uncovering historical features through architecture rubbings, and discovering architectural details that make Dallas buildings unique. Special guided tours of the Old Red Courthouse will offer visitors a chance to learn about the restored courtroom, restoration room, grand staircase, and clock tower.
