Texas Christian University - The School for Classical & Contemporary Dance

The School for Classical & Contemporary Dance at TCU develops educated dance artists prepared to become professionals and leaders in the global dance community. The School for Classical & Contemporary Dance at TCU is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance. Ours is still one of the few programs in the country to offer both a BFA in Ballet and in Modern Dance. Our undergraduate program offers comprehensive studies in dance and dance-related subjects including: classical and contemporary dance technique, choreography, improvisation, dance history, teaching methods, variations, classical pas de deux, contemporary partnering, aesthetics, music for dance, lighting for dance, jazz, dance kinesiology and international dance forms. Through additional course work, students gain experience in résumé construction, audition preparation, pinpointing career options, and grant proposal writing.
