Volunteers are a vital part of the Heard's success. The Heard is currently seeking volunteers for the following programs: Museum Docents
Volunteer as a Museum Docent in our sparkling new indoor exhibit, Treasures from the Earth, and escape the summer heat! Docents are needed seven days a week to guide visitors and answer questions.
Trail Guides
Lead groups and individuals on nature trails. Training is provided.
Observation Station Volunteers
Walk young participants (ages 16 and under) through a progressive and interactive observation program to foster an active interest in the natural world.
Live Animal Caregivers
Have fun while learning about our native animal wildlife ambassadors! Animal caregivers assist staff in feeding, sanitation and health checks. Training requires a one year commitment. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.
Ropes Course Volunteers
Perfect for outdoor adventure enthusiasts! Help groups learn about trust, communication, teamwork and more! Volunteers must enjoy working with kids and adults. No experience necessary.
